Thread Face Lift in Singapore: Dissolvable Threadlift

Dissolvable ThreadLift

What is Threadlift?

A thread face lift is a minimally invasive aesthetic procedure, often called a dissolvable threadlift, that uses medical-grade dissolvable threads to lift and tighten sagging skin in Singapore.

These threads are carefully inserted beneath the skin to reposition tissues while stimulating natural collagen production, resulting in firmer, more youthful-looking skin over time.

How Does It Work?

Thread lift treatments work through two key mechanisms:

1. Immediate Lifting Effect

Specialised threads physically lift and support sagging skin, improving facial contours instantly.

2. Collagen Stimulation

As the threads dissolve over time, they stimulate the body’s natural healing response, boosting collagen production and enhancing skin firmness and elasticity.

Types of Threads Used in Thread Lift

Different types of threads may be used depending on the treatment area, degree of skin laxity, and the level of support required. Some threads are designed to lift and reposition tissue, while others are mainly used to stimulate collagen production.

The doctor will assess your facial structure, skin condition, and treatment goals before deciding which thread type may suit you.

Coned Threads

Coned threads have small cone-shaped anchors along the thread that help hold and support the surrounding tissue.

Some are designed to anchor in two directions, allowing the tissue to be repositioned while distributing support along the thread. They may also stimulate collagen production as the threads gradually dissolve.

For suitable patients, coned threads may be considered when the doctor is looking for more sustained lifting support compared with certain barbed thread designs. The choice will depend on your facial structure, skin laxity, and treatment needs.

Barbed or Cog Threads

Barbed or cog threads have small hooks along the thread that grip the surrounding tissue.

This allows the doctor to reposition and support areas affected by sagging. They are commonly used around areas such as the jowls and jawline, where additional lifting support may be required.

The number, direction, and placement of the threads will depend on your facial anatomy and the area being treated.

Mono or Smooth Threads

Mono or smooth threads do not have hooks or cones, so they generally are not used to physically lift the tissue.

Instead, they are placed beneath the skin to stimulate collagen production as the threads gradually dissolve. They may be considered when the treatment goal is focused more on supporting skin firmness and quality.

In some cases, mono threads may be used together with lifting threads as part of a customised treatment plan. The combination, if any, will depend on the doctor’s assessment.

FAQ – Thread Lift Singapore

How long do dissolvable thread lift results last?

Results can vary depending on your skin condition, facial structure, the type of threads used, and how your body responds. During your consultation, we will assess these factors and explain what you may reasonably expect from the treatment.

We usually use local anaesthetic to help reduce discomfort during the procedure. You may still feel some pressure or pulling, followed by temporary tenderness, swelling, or tightness after treatment.

Some lifting may be noticeable soon after treatment, although swelling can affect the initial appearance. We will also explain that further changes may develop gradually as the area settles and collagen production takes place.

Are dissolvable threads permanent, or do they need to be removed?

Dissolvable threads are designed to break down gradually and be absorbed by the body, so they usually do not need to be removed.

If you experience persistent discomfort, visible threads, or unusual swelling, we recommend returning to the clinic so our doctor can assess the area.

In some cases, we may consider combining a thread lift with other treatments depending on your concerns. For example, we may consider dermal fillers for the face to address volume loss, while collagen laser treatment, Ultherapy skin lifting, or Thermage FLX treatment may be considered for other skin or lifting concerns.

We will assess your needs before recommending whether a combination approach is suitable and how the treatments should be timed.

Like any medical aesthetic procedure, a thread lift can have side effects such as swelling, bruising, tenderness, dimpling, infection, or visible threads.

At our medical aesthetic clinic in Singapore, we assess your facial anatomy, medical history, and suitability before recommending treatment, and we will explain the possible risks before you proceed.

The cost varies depending on the treatment area, the number and type of threads used, and the recommended treatment plan.

We will assess your facial structure, skin laxity, and treatment goals before explaining the treatment approach and applicable fees.
